THE SUMO HALL HIRAKUZA OSAKA offers two exciting programs: the “Sumo Show,” an all-new entertainment experience that fuses sumo with sound, lighting, and visuals like never before, and the “Sumo Workshop Experience,” where you can step into the ring and try real sumo training for yourself. Please note: This is not an official sumo event, but an experiential sumo-themed entertainment show.

SUMO SHOW (Night show) A high-energy entertainment show featuring dynamic sound, lighting, and visuals. Experience the fascinating world of sumo to the fullest!

• 30 minutes before showtime Enjoy the food culture Please arrive at least 30 minutes before showtime and treat yourself to a delicious Japanese room temperature bento and drink!
• 10 minutes before showtime. Enjoy Rakugo A professional Rakugo storyteller serves as the MC, kicking off the show with a delightful Rakugo performance in English.
• Explore Ancient Myths With dynamic sound, lighting, and visuals, the origins of sumo are vividly brought to life, transporting you to the mythical world of over 1,500 years ago.
• Learn about Sumo The basic techniques and rules of sumo are explained through a fun and comedic performance! Discover the sport in an entertaining, easy-to-understand way!
• Watch Sumo Matches Get up close to the action as former professional sumo wrestlers face off in powerful, high-energy matches. Don’t forget to cheer them on!
• Challenge a Sumo Wrestler If you are lucky enough to be chosen in the lottery, you’ll get to suit up in a sumo outfit and take on a real sumo wrestler! Do you think you can win?

SUMO WORKSHOP EXPERIENCE (Afternoon) Learn the basics of sumo directly from a former sumo wrestler. Experience actual training in the sumo ring!

• Arrival We recommend arriving 15 minutes before the start of the show
• Show Starts. Learn Sumo This is a great opportunity to learn about sumo and Japanese culture. Let’s deepen our understanding of sumo!
• Watch Sumo Matches Get up close to the action as former professional sumo wrestlers face off in powerful, high-energy matches. Don’t forget to cheer them on!
• Experience the training Learn the basic training and techniques of sumo and experience it in the ring! You will be taught directly by a former sumo wrestler.
